The Confinement Industry’s David vs Goliath
The confinement industry is a great industry to get into if you can. As many industries in Asia, any money-making industry is most likely dominated by some of the large conglomerates.
So, it’s always nice to see the underdog go up against the Goliaths. Or in this case, Malaysian startup, Savor of Life, is pitting itself against Eu Yan Sang.

Singapore SaaS Helps Retailers Pivot
Even prior to COVID-19, talk of the Retail-pocalypse happening in North America is nothing new. But of course, retail is slightly different in Asia.
What’s not different is the impact a pandemic has had on the retail sector.
Enter Techsembly, a Singapore tech startup.
They’ve created a solution to help retailers create their own online marketplace to sell their wares.
WALK WITH ME
Just give me a price…
This week on LinkedIn a relatively big-name marketer posted about how he just wished vendors would send him a price.
No need to get on a call or understand what he’s looking for, just send him a price (especially in B2B he added).
The comments were highly engaged with comments agreeing with him but more so disagreeing with him.
I thought I’d share my response:
Imagine going to an architect:“Just give me a price to build my dream home.”But the architect would need to know:- How many rooms do you want?- What materials do you want for your counter tops?- How large a lot do you have?- What kind of flooring do you want? Not everything can be painted with the same brush as “just give me a price.”I would be VERY worried about the architect that just throws out a price without knowing more info.

The Pumpkin Plan
October is coming around soon…so that means pumpkins galore!
In this case, it has to do with the book I’m currently reading: The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz.
Whether you’ve got a new business or an established one, this book is great read.
